Chapter 6 summary of "Tarzan Of The Apes"

In this chapter Edgar Rice Burroughs writes about how the tribe takes patrol around their area in the jungle. They usually end up near the cabin of John Clayton; Tarzan always sneaks into the cabin and observes all the things within it. He notices a knife in the cabin and plays with it for awhile but quickly looks at other things. He finds a alphabetical book and studies it. As he leaves the cabin he notices the knife and takes it with him.

When he walks out of the cabin he encounters a gorilla and fights it to the death. He strikes the gorilla with the knife several times and finally kills it but he doesn't come out unscathed. He is severely wounded but his tribe hears the wails from the gorilla. Only Kala comes to save Tarzan because Tublat and Kerchak don't wont to allow Tarzan in the tribe. She takes him back to tribe area and takes care of him for many weeks.
