Chapter 19 summary of "Tarzan of the Apes"

In this chapter Edgar Rice Burroughs write about how Tarzan's ape tribe had been since he left. The tribe had been corrupt because Terkoz had been the leader and he treated all of the apes badly. Most of the apes left but some stayed and faced Terkoz. One of the apes that stayed remembered that Tarzan said stand up to anyone that harms you. That ape told the tribe that they needed to fight Terkoz. They eventually made Terkoz leave the tribe and as he was looking for food he spotted Jane and Esmeralda. Terkoz had taken Jane back to his tribe so he could rebuild his tribe. When Tarzan found Esmeralda he noticed the trail that Terkoz had left when he climbed through the trees. Tarzan had caught up with Terkoz and Jane. Terkoz notices Tarzan and he had an urge to fight him to the death. Tarzan stabbed Terkoz several times in the heart and killed him. Jane ran to Tarzan and gave him a grateful hug. Tarzan kissed Jane several times to show his love to her. Jane shoved Tarzan off of her and Tarzan took her back into the jungle. Back at the cabin Clayton realized that two boats had been out in the ocean and he had tried to signal the boats to come. One boat had come to the shore and it had been military from England. The commander made his men go help look for Jane out in the jungle. As they were in the jungle the Arrow which had been Jane and Clayton's boat had sailed back and the military boat went to inspect it. They saw that men of the boats bodies had been dismantled and ate by the other crew members.
