Chapter 20 summary of "Tarzan of the Apes"

In this chapter Edgar Rice Burroughs writes about how Jane had started to fight Tarzan to get free but she quit after a while. She had looked at Tarzan thinking that he is beautiful and amazing. As she was held in his arms she felt that she was the safest she had ever been that he could never harm her ever. Tarzan took her to the amphitheater where the ceremony of the Dum-Dum is held. She looked at him with a special look enjoying his beauty and appearance. Tarzan had left Jane and she felt that he was just leaving her. He came back with fruit but accidentally sacred her. She fell back but Tarzan caught her stroking her hair as if she was Kala. He kissed her and she did not move away or reject it. There was a certain great intimacy between them. Tarzan started to build a soft bed with tree branches and grasses. As the day went by Tarzan went on and he motioned Jane to go to bed. When Jane had woke up she noticed Tarzan's body imprint right beside her to make sure she was safe. Tarzan gave her fruit for breakfast and then he took her to her people. As they glided through the trees she cuddled him and kissed him, she also said that she loves him. Tarzan let Jane go back to her people but they thought she was a lion but when she got closer they realized it was Jane.
