Chapter 25 summary of "Tarzan of the Apes"

In this chapter Edgar Rice Burroughs writes about when D'Arnot shot the thing behind the door of the cabin after he had read the note that was to Tarzan from Jane. He had looked at what he had shot and sadly he had shot Tarzan. The bullet only scraped his skull with only a flesh wound. Tarzan laughed at the size of the wound because he had fought many things that have done worse things than the bullet. D'Arnot gave a letter that had been left for Tarzan from Jane. He read and became very sad. He asked D'Arnot where America was and where the nearest city was. He demanded that they go to the nearest city and then sail to America to find Jane. As they walk to the city Tarzan and D'Arnot talk about Tarzan's past which he doesn't really know all about it. There had been one book that Tarzan had not been able to read so he asked D'Arnot to read and tell him about it. They finally reached a clearing and noticed that blacks lived there. Tarzan wanted to shot but D'Arnot stopped him. They were welcome after they had greeted the man named Father Constantine.
